Cannabinoids against childhood cancer

An investigation by Dr. Manuel Guzmán Pastor has been presented at the AECC (Spanish Association Against Cancer) in the framework of the "II Symposium on advances in cancer research", which indicates the possibility of fighting childhood cancer using cannabinoids(derived from the cannabis plant), these would be used as a basis for a therapy that treated brain tumors.

The research carried out by the specialist has presented good results, the tests carried out with patients who presented with terminal malignant tumors have provided satisfactory answers in some of them. These patients had already had other therapies to which they did not react, this discovery will open a window of hope in some cases. The new chemotherapeutic agents demonstrate great effectiveness in brain tumors by inhibiting different aspects of tumor cells such as their growth or proliferation among others. Childhood cancer is one of the leading causes of death from illness among children and young people up to 19 years of age. Highly seeking possible remedies against this disease has now allowed up to three out of four children to survive the disease. We hope that in the very near future we will no longer have to regret any death due to cancer.
