Men should take better care of future moms

To try to prevent the deaths of up to 500,000 women during pregnancy or during childbirth, the UN (United Nations Organization) just asked the male population (husbands and partners of women) to have more cure for future moms and to give them the attention they deserve.

This call has been made on the occasion of the celebration of Population Day and is made because some decisions that men make at the economic, political or social level affect the health of women. The idea is to improve family planning and economic decisions made by men that may cause worse attention to future moms by increasing the chances of a fatal outcome. A husband or partner who is better informed about aspects of pregnancy or childbirth can make a difference between a happy or regrettable outcome, knowing if medical attention is needed is essential for the man to notify the health services.

Most of these cases usually occur in developing countries, in some of them the future mother faces her pregnancy alone and without enjoying the attention that the partner should provide. There are many aspects that have to be improved, although the appeal will surely fall in a broken coat and more in those countries where there is no equality between men and women. In addition, it should be added that the lack of health services, the presence of hunger and many other issues can be an obstacle to the request made by the UN.
