The conciliation reaches the European Parliament

The conciliation has reached the European Parliament. The image of the Danish deputy Hanne Dahl and her daughter Gaia in a session of the Strasbourg Parliament has reached the media, little accustomed, like all of us, to verify that it is possible to reconcile work and family life.

Hanne Dahl He has set an example by taking his baby to a session of the most important European body, demonstrating that babies do not have to be a nuisance or an impediment to even debate on the most important issues. In addition, this session presented the request to ban the use of bisphenol, a potentially toxic plastic substance used in the manufacture of bottles.

This news clashes with those we are more than accustomed to finding, the ministers who join their positions almost immediately, claiming that their responsibilities cannot allow them to take care exclusively of their children.

But that a baby remains with his mother is not harmful to the life of society, but it enriches it and gives it the real meaning it has, the protection of the health and well-being of citizens, especially children.

It was time to see these examples and it would be wonderful if this example would spread and our deputies and councilors could quietly, if it is their desire, have their babies by their side and breastfeed them if it is time.

In the Plenary sessions of the City of Pinto, the city where I reside, I have seen a couple of times go to a recent mother councilor with her baby, but neither the mayor, who was the mother of twins during her tenure, nor most of them , have given an example of normality leading to conciliation institutions.

If a MEP can do her job with her baby nearby, as the millions of working mothers who preceded us have done, society should assume that in order to achieve healthier and happier people, babies should not be separated from their mothers so that they can to work.

The conciliation has reached the European Parliament. Will it soon reach the rest of society?
