Santa needs children to ask for less gifts

We can see these days on YouTube this video of Santa Claus asking the children that this year ask for less gifts.

Apparently one of his reindeer, Rudolf - nothing less than his chief reindeer - is injured. He has suffered an accident while doing flying practices and has a damaged leg.

In order for the sled to weigh a little less, Santa Claus Ask the children to be more selective. Thus, with fewer gifts, and despite traveling with an injured reindeer, you can take the toys to all the children in the world. I don't know about you, dads and moms, what do you think about this video? The initiative is commendable, however I have a bitter aftertaste with the reason used to convince children to ask for less: Rudolf reindeer and his damaged leg.

Because of course, only a couple of weeks later come the Magi, and to date no statement has been made that suspects an injury to one of the camels or a low back pain in King Melchior. If they do not have anyone in the infirmary, we ask Santa Claus less, and we ask the rest of the Kings, who are in full condition.

And going further, this year Rudolf has a bad leg, but next year, when he is in full condition, can children ask again what they want? Can you ask for more to compensate for this year?

I do not know, I think it is easier and more educational to say, simply, that there are no toys for everyone, that they have to be distributed so that other children do not run out of anything or that this year, as there is an economic crisis around the world, including Lapland, only three gifts will be delivered per child.

Also, this video should also be addressed to parents. Many times it is they (it is we, come on), who are guilty of the children asking a lot. If we are little, when they ask for nothing, we fill them with toys, we cause them to be the ones who want to continue with the streak (and that we complain about the needs we have created).

What do you think of you?

PS: The video is signed by Shackleton, an advertising agency, which explains how they came to Lapland to record Santa Claus in another video entitled "Making of: Message from Santa Claus to children, Christmas 2.009", which you can see here.

I imagine that the objective of this campaign is simply to make the agency known and leave a type message: "If Santa chose us, we must be the milk".

If this is so, I understand that the subject of Rudolf's leg is something totally secondary, but hey, I say that since they were, they could have solved it better.
