Did the gynecologist correct the weight when doing the last ultrasound?

One of the reasons why gynecologists are gynecologists and not fortune tellers is that when making predictions they are usually quite low.

It is not your fault, it is not easy to know when a woman will give birth and that is why I always say that the probable date of delivery should be called the unlikely date of delivery. Nor is it easy to know how much a child will weigh, because they only measure the circumference of the abdomen, the head and the size of the femur, thus predicting how much the baby will weigh.

Not long ago we explained that a 7,450 kg baby was born whose gynecologist had predicted that he would be born weighing 5.4 kilos. He was wrong of "only" 2 kg, so I ask you: Did the gynecologist correct the weight when doing the last ultrasound?

In my particular case, with our two children, they didn't get too close. In both there were almost 500 grams of difference, which is not small, really.

Almost six years ago, when Jon was born, we were willing to have in our hands a baby that would weigh about 3,200 kg. "His father has gone out," I thought, that I weighed 3,330 kg at birth (one always thinks that the gynecologist says 3,200 to be cautious, but then weighs a little more). The reality was that a baby with a weight of 2,750 kg was born, who had to deal with them, in the same room, with one that weighed more than 4 kilos (ours next to him looked like keychain size).

Almost three years ago, when Aran was born, we arrived at the Hospital, just over 34 weeks ago, with gynecologists doubting if at birth he would have to go to the incubator or not, waiting for a 2,400 kg baby to be born, which was the last thing They had told us a few days before. The reality was very different, because Aran weighed 2,010 kg and he had to spend six days in the incubator, few, but that I do not wish for any father or mother.

So from my point of view, The weight that a gynecologist tells you when doing an ultrasound is little or not reliable, although you may have better experiences about it.
