Having fun because it is magnificent as children learn through play. We interview the creators of Mom's Mobile

Sandra and Marcela are two mothers who have cell phones, so far everything normal, because what percentage of moms or dads of today will not have it ?. The particularity in this case, is that as passionate about new technologies, they have taken advantage of their knowledge in favor of the disclosure of smart apps, berets and fun.

How do they do this? They have created a blog called "Mom's mobile", from which they offer their impressions about content for mobile devices aimed at children, who previously tested

In "Mom's mobile", you will find a useful selection of applications classified by age, devices, price and themes. I think you will like it, and I hope this interview too. I leave you with Marcela and Sandra. Peques y Más- I see you very up to date in the emerging technologies used by children, is that so?   Mom's Mobile.- We are both passionate about new technologies. We have always been interested and professionally we have dedicated ourselves in one way or another to her. When we became mothers, and how could it be otherwise, we investigate and "play" with the relationship between childhood and technology.   PyM.- In the technology - parents - children relationship, what can each of the last two parts (adults / minors) contribute to the other so that this relationship is healthy?   EMM.- We believe that there is not much difference with any other area of life ... parents should be the guides. We must supervise and advise. Tell them how, what and when we can use computers, tablets or mobiles, always in line with family needs. And for their part, children always teach us to see things from another prism: I keep hallucinating every time my son takes the tablet and I see how he handles it. It does things that I would never do, I learn a lot!

The educational applications are great, great, in Mom's mobile we love them ... but have fun because yes it is also magnificent. Let's not forget that children learn and discover the world through play

PyM.- How should children use tablets and smartphones? Should we heed the recommendations that the experts incessantly enunciate or act with common sense?

EMM.- Every child and every family is a world and it is the parents, from common sense who should value how to use the new technologies. Experts love, for example, to set a cut-off age for everything (at X months you should sleep alone, at X months eat fruit) and so on to infinity.

If I say now that until three years of age they should not play with these devices ... does it mean that at two and a half they can't even see them and at three and one day they can spend 8 hours with their noses stuck to the screen? Does it mean that the same is true for a child of 3 than one of 13?

In the end, everything that has to do with parenting should prevail common sense. PyM.- What are your tips on this?   EMM.- In this article you can see our particular decalogue although the summary is still that: use common sense!

PyM.- Your blog is super useful, and I really like the active participation of readers, but how did you think about starting it?

EMM.- As worried mothers, we saw that although the network was flooded with expert opinion, the experience and opinion of families was lacking and we thought it would be a good idea.

PyM.- Would it be convenient to find the balance between educational and recreational applications?

EMM.- We believe there is space and time for everything. Do not be obsessed with just playing with educational apps. The educational applications are great, great, in Mom's mobile we love them ... but have fun because yes it is also magnificent. Let's not forget that children learn and discover the world through play. We advise that apps (both educational and recreational) are of quality.

In the end, everything that has to do with raising children must prevail common sense

PyM.- Do you advise an age to allow children to use technology? Or do you think it doesn't matter when they start as long as the parents supervise?   EMM.- Again, common sense is the key. My son turned three years ago a couple of months ago and we used the mobile and the tablet almost since he was born. And no, it's not that I left him with 6 months playing Angry birds, it's that we forget that they are very versatile tools: since I was little I have used apps like Sound to children sleep, in which the app simply selects quiet music. There are many of this type: with nannies, carols ...

Now he plays with certain apps appropriate to his age, or reads stories on the tablet ... He almost always plays with me next door and does not use it more than 10-15 minutes when he remembers, which is usually every two or three days. PyM.- What are your favorite applications? And those of your children? Although I will not be very original to say it, I love Toca Boca apps. My son loves puzzle apps. It's funny because classic puzzles aren't passionate instead!

Once the interview is over, I would like to point out this sentence "As worried mothers, we saw that although the network was flooded with expert opinion, the experience and opinion of families was lacking and we thought it would be a good idea" .

And on the other hand, I would also like to thank Marcela and Sandra for their collaboration in this interview. To me, I have loved to announce "The Mother's Mobile" to our readers.
