Natural teether for cochayuyo seaweed teeth

I was in Biocultura, the fair of healthy life and alternative consumption and I found a lot of ideas for organic parents or those who opt for more natural products.

The one that caught the attention is this Cochayuyo seaweed teether (voluminous and fleshy seaweed from South America) because it is a healthy alternative to plastic or cloth teethers to relieve the discomfort of gums and teeth.

Although for many of us it is something totally unknown, they have a tradition of generations. It seems that mapuches, indigenous inhabitants of southern Chile, have used centuries of pieces of this seaweed to accompany the dentition of their babies.

Not only is there no danger of being swallowed, because it is large and has a elastic consistency that does not break, but also, when mixed with saliva, releases trace elements and minerals such as calcium and magnesium (essential in the mineralization of teeth and bones) and small amounts of its fiber internal that facilitate intestinal transit.

Just wash the piece of seaweed and give it to the baby to bite. May reuse rinsing it and putting it to dry on a cotton cloth, while not excessively losing its consistency.

The popular name is "trolas " which is the widest part of this seaweed.

My son already has this problem solved but if he has a little brother I will take it into account because in addition you can also cook stuffed.

In Spain, the Brotasol brand is sold and sold in organic stores or natural products.
